IFDA & Moco warns of rising energy costs

Richard Forbes, CEO of IFDA and Countrywide Member Mike Peberdy, Chief Executive of Moco Foods, were both featured in The Australian this week, discussing the ongoing “national energy emergency”.

Richard Forbes outlined the clear message he has received from IFDA members: the government’s energy policies have been, and continue to be, a major driver of rising food prices.

Mike Peberdy shared that Moco’s electricity bill has increased by 50%, now totalling $45,000 per month. He expressed concern about the long-term viability of the industry and emphasized the need to “deliver cheaper energy”.
